Character Map

The Character Map plugin enables you to insert characters into your document that you may not be able to type easily using your keyboard.

To enable the plugin:

  1. Press the menu button in the top-right corner of the window and select Preferences ▸ Plugins.

  2. Select Character Map to enable the plugin.

Using Character Map

Once the plugin is enabled, you can add characters from the Character Map view of the side panel.

  1. Place the cursor at the point in your document at which you would like your special character.

  2. Open the side panel by pressing the menu button in the top-right corner of the window and selecting View ▸ Side Panel, or by pressing F9.

  3. Select Character Map from the drop-down list at the top of the side panel.

  4. If necessary, choose the character set to which your character belongs from the list at the top of the Character Map side panel (for example, Arabic).

  5. Double click your desired character to insert it.

You must click on the editing view of your document to continue editing normally.
