Embedded Terminal
gedit makes it possible to include an embedded version of GNOME Terminal, the GNOME command-line application, in the bottom panel of the gedit window. This will let you run scripts, install needed software, or test your program without leaving gedit.
Enable Embedded Terminal
To enable the plugin:
Press the menu button in the top-right corner of the window and select Preferences ▸ Plugins.
Select Embedded Terminal to enable the plugin.
Using Embedded Terminal
Once you have enabled the plugin, to add a terminal to the bottom panel:
Press the menu button in the top-right corner of the window and select View ▸ Bottom Panel.
